SS-31
Elamipretide — next-generation mitochondrial protection

Scientific Composition
What is
SS-31
SS-31 (Elamipretide, also known as MTP-131) is a tetrameric peptide with sequence Asp-Arg-Phe-Lys and a 3+ positive charge that selectively accumulates in the inner mitochondrial membrane. It binds to cardiolipin, stabilizing respiratory chain complexes and drastically reducing ROS production. Phase II studies document significant functional improvement in mitochondrial pathologies, heart failure and accelerated aging.
